Are CBD and marijuana the same thing?
No, CBD and marijuana are not the same. Marijuana is another word for the cannabis plant, which usually refers to cannabis strains that will get you “high.” CBD is the acronym for cannabidiol—a non-psychoactive component with medical benefits that exist in hemp and cannabis plants. Read more about the difference between CBD and marijuana.
How do marijuana and hemp differ?
Although hemp and marijuana are both broad classifications of cannabis plant, Hemp is a term used to classify varieties of cannabis plant that contain 0.3% or less THC, and therefore has no psychoactive effects and is legal under the U.S. Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018. Will CBD get me high?
No. CBD has no psychoactive effects and offers relief with a variety of potential health benefits. In addition, unlike marijuana, which contains THC, the industrial hemp plant used to extract natural CBD contains nothing that will affect your state of mind or cognitive ability. Check out our lab tests that state our products are THC-free.
Is CBD going to affect my drug test results?
Our independent labs verify that no CBD products we sell contain measurable THC. It is extremely unlikely that any trace amounts of THC that is found in some CBD products will show up on an official or employment drug test. If any THC exists in the product, it is well under the government-mandated limit for non-psychoactive products. Some testing facilities look for different cannabinoids than others, but none should identify CBD usage as illegal or prescription drugs.
What are cannabinoids?
All varieties of cannabis strains contain chemical substances called cannabinoids. The cannabinoids are found mainly in the resin of the flowers of the hemp and cannabis plants. They provide relief to an array of symptoms, including pain, anxiety, insomnia, inflammation and may also promote healthy skin. The two most known cannabinoids are CBD and THC—learn more about CBD and THC at our CBD Knowledge Center.
What are terpenes?
Cannabis plants contain terpenes, which are fragrant oils that help create the different colors and flavors of the hemp extracts themselves. There are many varieties of terpenes in the same plant that have a diverse range of health benefits for the human body.
How does the endocannabinoid system (ECS) work?
The endocannabinoid system exists in every human body and contains receptors in the brain and nervous system that allow cannabinoids to attach to cells and provide all the health benefits that come with these natural, organic compounds. These receptors are called CB1 and CB2, and work with different external and internally produced cannabinoids. And yes, you’d be surprised to learn that every human body also produces cannabinoids, more accurately called endocannabinoids. Learn more about cannabinoids, endocannabinoids, and the endocannabinoid system at our CBD Knowledge Center.
What does the entourage effect mean?
In the simplest terms, the entourage effect is a scientific way to say that the sum is greater than all its parts separately. When it comes to the type of broad-spectrum CBD products offered at Botanima Organics, it means that the combination of different cannabinoids and terpenes help your body more when they work together than if you take them individually. This is one of the major reasons why broad-spectrum oils and edibles are the best choice for overall health and well-being. Read more about the entourage effect.

How long do I have to use CBD to notice a difference?
Like many other nutritional supplements, you will not feel a strong effect from CBD oil the moment you take your first dose. You’re unique, and your endocannabinoid system may operate differently than someone else’s. It takes time for all the receptors to process the new compounds in your body. When you start taking a new CBD product, do so for at least two weeks while tracking your progress, level of pain, sleep quality, and symptoms. Do not skip doses and do not give up before you get the relief you deserve.
How do I know what the best dosage is?
While each product has a recommended dose, it makes sense to start with the smallest one and work your way up if you do not get the results you want. Not that it holds any danger, but we do not recommend going beyond 200 milligrams of CBD per day. Our Knowledge Center has additional information about effective dosages. Read more on our dosage guide.

Full-spectrum oil is hemp extraction with all the cannabinoids, terpenes, and fatty acids found in it—including THC, which may cause psychoactive effects. Broad-spectrum CBD oil is full-spectrum extraction without any THC. Due to the entourage effect, we consider it very important to have as many cannabinoids, terpenes, and fatty acids in our products in order to deliver the optimum benefits of this amazing plant.
Is it possible to overdose on CBD?
Although nutritional recommendations suggest you do not take more than 200 milligrams daily, there has never been evidence of CBD overdosing or toxicity. These natural products are safe in reasonable amounts, but we still recommend not going above 200 milligrams per day.
Does CBD use require a prescription or marijuana card?
No. Because CBD products do not have THC, anyone can buy them legally anywhere in the United States. You don’t need a doctor’s note, legal permit, or any other documentation.

It is important to do your own independent research and speak with your physician if you are currently taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications.

What is MCT oil?
MCT oil is a supplement made from coconut oil and contains a type of fat called medium-chain triglycerides. The MCT is separated from the original oil through a process called fractionation, which concentrates it into MCT oil.
Why did my CBD oil turn pink?
CBD Oil could turn pink when the Polyphenol Oxidase enzyme in the MCT oil (coconut) is exposed to sunlight and the oxygen in the air. It is a completely safe and natural behavior and doesn't mean that the CBD oil is spoiled or defective.
To avoid CBD Oil turning pink, be sure to close the bottle after use, and store it out of direct sunlight.
Why did you name your company Botanima Organics?
Botanima is a combination of two words: “Botany,” which is the science of plants, and “Ma,” which is the Chinese word for cannabis (hemp). We chose our name because science and nature are the foundations for everything we do here at Botanima Organics, while the Chinese were the first to discover the medical benefits of cannabis/hemp some 5,000 years ago. We proudly added Organics to our name, since all of our hemp is organically grown in the USA.
