CBD and Yoga

Yoga is an art form, exercise, and meditative practice that has existed for ages and been refined by a number of cultures. It is used by people from all walks of life to help them experience some big improvements in their lives. Today we are going to take a look at yoga, CBD, and how the two have intertwined over the years. Starting with a look into yoga.

Yoga Practices

Yoga has come a long way since its roots over 2000 years ago, many people now practice it simply as an exercise in what is known as the third limb. Most practices today see yoga as a collection of different forms that are supposed to stretch the body and relax the mind, letting you release the outside world and be yourself.

Sometimes simple meditation is incorporated into yoga at the beginning of a session and/or at the end. This allows you to clear everything out of your mind while you are practicing, and to further remove clutter from your mind when you are done, so you leave ready to take on the world. But like with many exercise regimens, you can find a variety of different practices depending on where an instructor was taught and what they believe in.

Part of practicing yoga is learning how to control your body and knowing every inch of it. This can be hard to learn, but that is part of the reason there are so many poses as they work to activate every inch of your body. This is one of the reasons that people who practice yoga have such good control over their bodies, are very fit, and possess a good balance.

What is CBD?

CBD is a natural compound that is derived from the hemp/Sativa plant and is often used for a variety of health benefits. THC is extracted from the hemp plant alongside the CBD but then removed from the CBD oil, meaning that it does not have psychoactive effects. Even CBD oil with the legal .3% THC does not produce the psychoactive effects.

CBD is becoming more popular than THC because it brings with it many of the health benefits and has some of its own, that THC does not have.

The main way that CBD works is by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system which is used to control various parts of the body. From current research we have found that CBD triggers both receptors in the endocannabinoid system, CB1, and CB2. Both of these receptors bring with them their own potential benefits when triggered by CBD but they include inflammation reduction, pain reduction, anti-anxiety properties, and a host of other benefits. CBD is also an antioxidant so it can help restore radiant skin to your body and encourage smooth skin.

CBD and Yoga Together

With the benefits for the mind and body that CBD brings to the table it should be no surprise that it is often combined with an artform like yoga that is very concerned with your body. The two flow well together and have been combined in the past, as has yoga and THC. Yoga also pairs well with CBD because it brings with it the ability to fight stress and anxiety, two of the biggest contributors to trouble in today’s world, and with the two (CBD and yoga) working together, you can reap big rewards in terms of your mental health.

How do you go about combining yoga and CBD? It turns out there are a couple of ways to go about it, depending on where you live. Many areas where THC has been legalized are very forward-thinking when it comes to CBD and offer yoga classes specifically for those looking to combine yoga with CBD and/or THC. Sometimes these are called ganja classes but for those who are only interested in yoga and CBD, you will want to make sure that the ganja classes do not include the use of marijuana, just cannabidiol.

You can also use a CBD product before your yoga class so that you can take a class at your favorite yoga location. The main difference with going this route is that you have to find the product yourself and explore dosages to find what works right for your particular endocannabinoid system. For first time users or those who are curious, take a chance to check out our CBD dosage guide to help find the right dose for you.

Lastly, you can practice yoga at home and combine it with CBD at home. At-home yoga, in conjunction with CBD, is often the best route for people to go, as it gives them the opportunity to experiment with yoga and CBD in the privacy of their own homes at first. Sometimes people try this at first to get a solid understanding of CBD and yoga before they go try to practice the combination outside of the home.

What Routine Should I Practice with CBD Yoga?

Your exact routine for combining CBD and yoga doesn’t matter that much, in fact, it is better to customize your routine to yourself. This allows you to practice what works best for you. For example, some people have trouble with specific poses of yoga and they may only want to do them once per session and thus they wouldn’t want to repeat it while other people like to ensure they hit as many poses per session as possible.

One popular routine starts you out with the corpse pose then moves into knees-to-chest, followed by supine twists and cat/cow then downward dog and child’s pose. At the end, it finishes off by engaging the corpse pose again.

Out of all of the things that you can do to maximize your yoga experience you should find music that helps you to retain a calm mind as you want to remain calm and push everything from your mind as you let your body flow through the positions of yoga.

The Best CBD For Anxiety

CBD can be found in a variety of forms that are all derived from CBD oil, each form has its own particular uses. When it comes to the best CBD for anxiety we are looking for CBD oil. Taking CBD oil internally allows the dosage to affect your endocannabinoid system, thus relieving anxiety.

Another one of the benefits of CBD is that it helps to relieve pain and aches. When applied in a salve to your body you can feel better while practicing yoga. Out of all of the companies that produce CBD salve, Botanima Organics produces one of the best salves out there, mixed with amazing ingredients such as coconut (MCT) oil, beeswax, lavender oil, and eucalyptus oil.

When combined with CBD oil from Botanima Organics you can maximize the anxiety fighting benefits of the CBD and help to power your body to live a healthy life with common benefits such as increased sleep, reduced inflammation, and antioxidants to help power a radiant skin and keep the body healthy.

While some think of yoga as simply a workout, almost everyone who starts to practice it quickly starts to reap the rewards. Rewards that go far beyond just enhancing your body, your mind, and body both are enhanced but so is the connection between the two. Adding a CBD salve to your yoga workout will help to reduce physical aches and pains while CBD oil can add to the anxiety fighting nature of yoga. Help yourself to get a healthier, less stress filled, life.
